Avery’s Hope provides financial assistance to the rare, ultra rare and undiagnosed pediatric GI patient families facing out-of-pocket and insurance denied expenses. Money raised benefits the HOPE Family Fund for the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, The Acacia Puleo Small Bowel/Liver Transplant Patient Assistance Fund at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Patient Assistance for children who have developed GI complications from cancer, or cancer treatments, at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Patient Assistance for the GI Department at Texas Children’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. Avery’s Hope also offers small individual awards to families in need. The organization also partners with NORD – National Organization for Rare Disorders and offers a Rare Pediatric GI Lodging Assistance Program.
This all volunteer organization also advocates on behalf of the rare pediatric GI patient families by serving on the Every Life Foundation Access and Newborn Screening groups. Avery’s Hope is also a member of the Global Genes Patient Alliance and is a member of the National Organization for Rare Disorders.
